Session 1: Effective Communication & Active Listeningeffective-communication-01

The first workshop of the Start Talking series focuses on improving the basic techniques of effective communication and listening skills. Listening is not the same as hearing; hence, your active listening ability not only refers to the words being spoken but also how the message is being delivered, including non-verbal messages sent with the words.

This workshop will discuss the emotional, empathetic, encouraging or inspirational effect from your communication and how this fits within the norms of acceptable behaviour. This workshop will demonstrate how people can become more charismatic. There is also a focus on improving your emotional intelligence.
